MAISONS DE VILLE EN TRIPLEX
2015 ARCH

A proposal for housing in Paris' 14th arrondissement. A series of townhouses provide residents with a sense of community within a dense urban setting with several floors of living space, outdoor space, a rooftop deck, and greenhouse. Inspiration was drawn from ideas of adaptability and change, resulting in free standing storage & partition walls, sliding doors that open the ground floor to the exterior, and a re-configurable mezzanine level with panels that open and close for privacy. The mezzanine in turn is able to adapt to the needs of each resident, ranging from a spare bedroom, to a home office, or dining room. The townhouse typology allows for air and green space to penetrate the site, improving quality of life by encouraging residents to spend time outdoors collectively.
